Like the pilgrimage to Mecca made by devotees once in a lifetime, I finally took a long awaited trip to paint at "Artist Point" at Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. It was a rush to be standing on the hallowed ground where Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt, William R. Leigh, Mary Agnes Yerkes, John Henry Twachtman, Joe De Yong, Carl Preussl, Kathy Wipfler, Cyrus Afsary, Clyde Aspevig and many more favorite artists had painted). This visit coincides with the150th anniversary of the establishment of Yellowstone National Park.
